Field Trip

and

what i learned:

................

1. that i really, really want to live on a small farm and have chickens, goats, pigs, cows and have a huge garden and lots of fruit trees.

2. that journey really could have cared less that i was even on this field trip. she just wanted to be with her friends and didn't even notice i was there. all my other kids LOVED to have me come and wanted to sit by me and eat lunch with me.....not this lil firecracker.

(yeah it broke my heart just a lil)

3. i saw my good friend julie, she talked to the kids about cows.

julie is someone who i really like and admire. she just seems to have the important things in life figured out. she is down to earth, kind and sweet. i am kinda mad at myself for not telling her how cool i think she is.

i want to get better at letting my friends know what they mean to me.

if you haven't told someone how cool you think they are and that you admire them

i would suggest doing it today!!!!!

WAH WA WAH WAH WA WA

aubrey played peppermint patty in the musical "your a good man charlie brown."
the entire cast worked hard and put on a fantastic play.
i am always amazed at how good these kids are and how i wished i would have not tried to be "SO COOL" in high school and really went after the things that i really wanted to do ( i was a real block head tee hee ). i am a proud momma and think that my kids are some of the RAD-est peeps i know and for the record peppermint patty was my favorite.

SUNSHINE

all the kids were pawned off else where and that left reg and i alone

( this rarely happens)

so we hopped in the truck and headed out for our first quick hike of the season to

look out point.

it was so nice to get out in the sunshine and clear the mechanism.

nice to be able to talk..... just the two of us without kids interrupting

nice to be alone

you see marriage is

HARD

i am a huge fan of kids and of marriage

but still hard at times.

...............

we both have been pretty unplugged as of late

and have let

work, kids, crazy schedules and stress

take over.

...........................

we both need to work harder at staying plugged in.

that's life.......

we stumble

we fall

we get up

and

we keep going

and we try and find

joy in the journey.

might sound a lil Corny but it's true.

and

wouldn't you know

it

as soon as we were really enjoying hanging out together

the phone rang and it was one of the kids

that needed a ride home.

a lil conversation we had

J: "mom, when can i get a training bra?" "i really, really, really want a training bra"

M: shaking my head in disgust and exhaling rather loudly

"when you have something to train

that's when you can get a training bra."

J: giggle...giggle

M: laughing really really really hard

this kid cracks me up

..............................

like i have said before

journey is very much like a wild horse

........................

i don't think you can tame a wild horse any easier

than you can tame this lil firecracker.

wish me luck

Perfect weather

for a

perfect game of croquet

and other outdoor fun.

not sure it was warm enough for a water fight.

guess that's the joy of being a kid.

SPRING BREAK

but

it felt more like winter break.

we originally had planned on going camping at goblin valley

but

when the snow and wind kept coming we chickened out. we were all VERY disappointed

( well, everyone except bridger)

but

we quickly came up with a plan B which was touring temple square and sleeping at the cabin.

touring temple square was nice

but

i really had my heart set on hiking and being outdoors.

have i mentioned how much i am looking forward to

SPRING?

EASTER

we colored eggs, hunted eggs, watched conference and woke up to SNOW.

BLASTED SNOW

juju and i were pretty grumpy the whole weekend...must be hormones or the lack of sunshine or a combination of both.

she walked home from the neighborhood egg hunt and missed out on all the candy and fun.

thanks jill for hosting the hunt, you always do a fantastic job and juju thanks you for bringing her the candy. your the best.

hate when i'm grumpy.

most times i'm happy but not this weekend.
