THANKSGIVING

I love most holidays but

Thanksgiving

really is about the best one.

It is such a chill and

noncommercial day

spent preparing great food

relaxing with family

and

reflecting on all that we have to be grateful for

The thing that I am the most thankful for is

MY AMAZING FAMILY

good, good people in our life

I feel blessed to call each of you

FAMILY

My kids and hubby

bring such joy to my life

We are very much an imperfect family

but

I do love you to pieces.

This year we spent the holiday with

Regan's side of the family up to the cabin.

The cabin is such a beautiful place to gather and give thanks.

After dinner the kids made turkey hats and played the wii

The men folk went to shoots guns...TRADITION.

While the men were away the woman folk sat and enjoyed drinking a favorite beverage and eating tons of good chocolate and laughing.....TRADITION

LOVE TRADITOIN

I can hardly believe that another Thanksgiving has come and gone.

Now

we can put up the tree and listen to Christmas tunes.....

NEVER not EVER before Thanksgiving.

that is just how we roll around here.

I love

pedicures

they are ever so relaxing

having

makes me happy

getting

pedi's with my bff

makes me

happier.

i need to pamper myself more often......

i really must

it feels

When asked what Mckray wanted to do for his upcoming birthday his reply was simple.

"Mom, I just want to play football with my friends on the "big" field at the high school".

Aubrey stepped up the request a notch or two by asking her buddies that play on the High School team to come and hold a "mini" camp.

They warmed up, ran some drills and then played an actual game together on the "big" field.

Great boys.....both big and small

not sure who had more fun

Pizza and cupcakes were snarfed down, presents were torn into and more football was played.

Mckray informed us that this was his best birthday EVER!

AUBREY'S

HOMECOMING

DANCE

There are lots and lots of bitter-sweet feelings

going on lately with Aubrey getting older.

I can't stop time or rewind the clock.

She is almost 18 and she is a Senior.

I thought that it would take forever to get to this place

but no

we are here

and it happened so fast

and there is nothing to do but

make the best of it

and be happy for her

and wonder if we have taught her enough......

we haven't,

does any parent????

It is hard to let go

but we must begin to let go.

She will graduate and move away

(she can't wait)

I guess she is no different than I was.

I will be happy for her

but sad for me.

Thank goodness

we still have some more time

before she leaves

I will try hard not to wish for time to slow down

but to relish the time

we have left

and enjoy

right now

with her.
