PRESTON CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS

On Christmas Eve we go to the Preston party. We eat, visit, laugh, have some sort of program, exchange presents with great grandpa and just enjoy being together. This year there were 80 people there!!!! It is so fun to come from a BIG family. The highlight of the party for me was when great grandpa shared his testimony to all of the family. He told everyone how he had a testimony that families can be together forever and it really touched us all. I don't think there was a dry eye in the house. Grandpa is so special to me and has always loved me and included me in the family and has thought of me as one of his own and he will never know what that means to me. Thanks mom and dad and my brother and sisters for loving our family and always including us. We love you all!!!

QUEENSBERRY CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS

The Queensberry Christmas party is held at a family friend's red barn. We meet together and eat delicious food that consist of meatballs, egg nog, Virginia honey baked ham, sunshine potatoes, relish plates, Neils Christmas delight, pineapple cheese ball, baked beans and much much more. After we eat until we are stuffed we start the ever popular program portion of the night. Each family comes prepared to sing a Christmas song to the group. This is always pretty funny because we usually get pretty creative. The nativity comes next. Instead of dressing up the kids bring in pieces of a wooden nativity while the story is being read. Gifts are exchanged and wonderful memories are made. Thanks mom for the hard work that you put into making this party a success. Aliza reciting the "Night Before Christmas."

Journey was in charge of what song that we sang this year. She learned it in school and taught us. It is the Hawaiian version of the "12 days of Christmas."

The Hopkins singing the Charlie Brown version of "Hark the Herald Angels Sing"
Neil you make a wonderful Linus.

Mrs. Clause made an appearance to our Christmas party and read "Yes ,Virginia there is a Santa"

Time for the Nativity

Afton and Shane reading the Christmas story

The kids getting ready for the Nativity

Aren't they cute.

This was one of the funniest parts of the night. Mckray is a die hard BYU fan and my brother loves to tease him about how BYU sucks and how the Utes are the best; it just makes Mckray so mad. Well my Mom bought both of them rival shirts and made them wear them for the rest of the party. It was so funny.

We are so grateful for family.

PALFREYMAN CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS

The Nativity

Chance and Blythe as Mary and Joseph

Mckray as a Shepard

Oakley, Journey and Tymbre as Angels

Bridger, Coy and Sawyer as The 3 Wise Men
Dutch as the Innkeeper

These kids are pretty crazy and wild when they get together but I am always amazed at how reverent and respectful they are while doing each important part. I love the spirit it brings to the party.

BRIDGER'S CHRISTMAS POEM

There Will Come A Christmas
By: Bridger
(with apologizes to Sarah Teasdale)
There will come a Christmas, when no one can buy
And yet not one shall even cry
And the meaning of Christmas will be realized
And the spirit of Christmas shall be revived
For it's not the things we get that counts
No, its giving in large or small amounts
Not one would mind if they got one gift
No, not one would think to throw a fit
And all shall gather and be happy and sing
And that would mean just everything
So when it comes to that special date
Give, give, give before it's too late

LIGHTS, GINGERBREAD HOUSES AND CRAZY FUN

It isn't Christmas unless we make gingerbread houses and go through the Festival of lights.
No hayrides through the lights this year because it was tooo cold. We were a little bummed about it but we just piled into two cars and away we went.

Regan and Juju are getting ready to create a masterpiece.

Bridger's creation.

The gang getting busy.

Aliza's nightmare before Christmas house.

Kirstynn, Kyler and Aubrey making Santa's car and an outhouse. Leave it to these guys to be thoughtful enough to have an outhouse ready for santa when he needs to do his business.

Mckray is usually the most competitive but not this year. He just went to work on his house and didn't talk alot of trash talk.

Speaking of trash, Journey decided to make a junkyard house this year.
Way to go Juju for thinking outside the box. Very creative young one.

The whole crazy, gingerbread making, silly, fun loving bunch.

The other girl in the group hit a telephone pole on the way to pick up her date and couldn't make pictures at our house or go to dinner. Kelsey we are so glad that you are o.k. I'm glad that you still made it to the dance and the after party.
Aubrey, your dad and I are glad everyone made it home safe and sound because it was a very cold and very blustery evening.

THE POLAR EXRESS

We got our Christmas gift from granny and grandpa Palfreyman early this year. They took the whole family to the "Polar Express" in Heber. When we boarded the train we were met by elves that served us hot chocolate and cookies made by Mrs. Clause. She and Santa made an appearance and Santa passed out bells to everyone. The little kids even ask Santa for his autograph. The conductor came around and punched the train tickets. The elves played games and we all sang Christmas carols before we made it to the "North Pole."( Journey wasn't buying it for one moment that we really went to the North Pole. )Thank you granny and grandpa for the fun and magical night. It is one that the kids will not soon forget.
All Aboarrrrrd.
