We have decided that every Monday we will try and go on some little hike that we haven't ever done. Today we hiked up the Red Lake Trail. It is a really pretty hike but I recommend not hiking in the heat of the day like we did. It was a cooker but that was the only draw back of the trip... that and the disappointment of what the lake ended up looking like..it was nothing more than a glorified watering hole for all the cattle up there but still it was a great hike.

PINEWOOD DERBY
The scouts held the ever popular PINEWOOD DERBY. This was Mckray's first year being able to enter a car and needless to say he was thrilled . Mckray is such a go getter and worked really hard building his car. He came up with the design, color, sanded it, worked right beside his dad and took in every word Regan said to him, he wanted to learn all there was to know about building this car and he is so lucky to have such a good teacher. Here is the finished product. He was so proud!!!This was Mckray's first time helping with the flag ceremony. I was so proud!!Visions of winning danced in his head. Here they come!!!!
Mckray didn't end up having the fastest car but he did win the "HOTTEST" car award!!! He said the cutest thing when we got in the car. " Mom, the hottest doesn't mean like hot as in a girl is HOT, it just means that I had the coolest looking car... right mom."

GOING TO THE GROTTO
For F.H.E we took a small hike up to the GROTTO. It is a neat waterfall up Payson Canyon. Beautiful hike that follows a mountain stream. It was a great way to spend a couple hours. It is amazing how getting away into nature really brings out the best in our family. We were all on a Rocky Mountain High!!!!! After the falls we went further up to Payson lakes and walked around for awhile. We are lucky to live so close to an abundance of Gods creations.

CRAWDAD HUNTIN'
While we were at the park Mckray spotted a crawdad hiding in this tube. So the kids decided they wanted to catch it.......so the hunt began.
Juju trying to coax it out with a healthy snack.Bridger trying to wait patiently until he came out.Aubrey trying to get a better view. Here he comes get ready.......We caught the little sneaky bugger... finally!!
He's so cute I could just kiss him.
Make peace with it not war.
Juju as happy as a clam...I mean crawdad.
He never took his eyes off those pincher's. We fed it good and showed it a good time.
A few of the kids wanted to take it home and keep it as a pet, the other's wanted to let it go..so we let it go. I don't think crawdad's make good pets.
It was a very successful afternoon of crawdad huntin'.
